2008/2009 Polo Season

This year there are leagues that we are intending to enter, they are

National League, South West Div 4 - This is the main British league run by the BCU polo committee. This will be the 2nd continuous year that we have entered this league of teams from the South West! These games are played at Kingswood leisure Centre in Bristol.
Welsh League, Div 1 - This (as the name suggests) is the Welsh polo league as organised by the WCA polo committee, this will be the first year that the current team will have played in Div 1, as promotion from Div 2 was gained last season after finishing 2nd in Div 2. The League is played at Newport Pool and the outdoor venue of Taff Bargoed.
Welsh League, Div 2 - This (as the name suggests) is the Welsh polo league as organised by the WCA polo committee, the intention is to enter a 'new team' in to Div 2 this year, comprising mainly of players that have not played in a league previously. The League is played at Newport Pool and the outdoor venue of Taff Bargoed.
South West Regional League Div 2 - This is a Regional league for the South West and is an opportunity to play in the 50m Millfield School pool in Street. This will be the first year playing in this league, which will see three visits to Street, with the first visit determining the level of teams that will be played in the remaining visits!

Format

Each date will consist of several games (3-5 usually), where you will play the other teams that are in attendance that date, the results are co-ordinated by the organised in to a league table. Games usually last from 7-10 minutes per half.

South West Regional League Div 2

At the first tournament teams will play every team in their group once. This will place teams in either the top or bottom three.
At the second and third tournaments the top three teams from each group will form a group of six and will play each other twice, the same will take place for the bottom three teams from each group.
This means the season will consist of 15 games and teams will play 5 games at every tournament they attend.

Div 2 Group A - Penzance CC, Hamble A, Sutton Bingham, Cornish Ladies, Taunton Youth, Croesy
Div 2 Group B - Bridgend, Bristol Pussycats, Queens A, Hamble, BUWE A, Attacking Badgers

16th November 2008 - 9am - 2pm Top 6
25th January 2009 - 9am - 2pm Bottom 6
1st March 2009 - 9am - 2pm Top 6
15th March 2009 - 9am - 2pm Bottom 6.
